Delegates of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), C/Supt. Marie-Claude Arsenault the Director-General of the Sensitive and Specialized Investigative Services and Mr. Jay Schooley the Liaison Officer for the Philippines, met the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking (IACAT) to discuss the Philippines’ efforts to combat human trafficking.
During the meeting, OIC-Executive Director Rudiger Falcis II discussed the current landscape of trafficking in persons in the Philippines and the government’s efforts to address said global concern.
Also present during the meeting were representatives from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO), and
National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to share their best practices in fighting human trafficking.
The RCMP delegation is also set to meet with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and NBI to sign agreements for the Protection of Children and Youth Against Sexual Abuse.
